💚 Scent Description
While walking through the woods you take a path you hadn’t noticed before. Here the air grows quieter, the light softer, it's as if you’ve wandered across an unseen boundary. And then you notice it: the old torii gate, weathered and leaning, its wood softened with age and covered in thick moss. Beyond it, a narrow path of worn stone steps disappears into a corridor of towering bamboo, their tall stalks creaking gently as they sway overhead. The air here feels cool and bright, smelling of ozone as if rain recently washed over through this place. At the end of the steps, the shrine waits.

Though the gate below has weathered the centuries, the shrine itself stands immaculate, carefully tended and alive with quiet reverence. As you enter the grounds, the air shifts, sweet and cool as notes of delicate florals, summer melon and a hint of citrus sunshine bring an almost instant feeling of calm serenity.

You glance around the clearing, expecting to see a wandering priest… but in the corner of your eye, something moves. A figure half-hidden behind the shrine beam pauses, realizing it’s been seen. As you meet the tentative gaze of the shy yokai who watches over this shrine and its kami, it regards you with curiosity for a brief moment before slipping quietly back into the forest shadows.
